The origins of program offerings in SCIS date back to 1991, when the University Certificate in Information Systems was first offered, followed by the Bachelor of Science in Computing and Information Systems in 1993, in response to perceived industry and student interest. The Master of Science in Information Systems is a relatively young program, having taken in its first cohort in 2001. Both our undergraduate and graduate programs align with the internationally adopted curricula. The undergraduate programs use ACM/IEEE Computer Science model curriculum as a reference. The graduate program is based on the MSIS 2000 and MSIS 2006 Model Curricula sponsored by the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) and the Association for Information Systems (AIS), with the additional rigour of a technology specialization.
