|Name: || Infrastructure for Research in Semantic Technologies |
|Abstract || The infrastructure will support:
- collecting large amounts of data from a variety of different systems currently being used in distance education, including (but not limited to), authoring tools, learning management, communication tools, social networking tools, learning object repositories, and mobile devices.
- Development and evaluation of new algorithms and approaches that leverage semantic technologies to improve current practices in technology enhanced learning related to adaptivity, personalization, social interaction, collaboration, and authoring.
- Development and evaluation of novel online learning environments that are based on semantic technologies and integration (i.e., enhancement) of semantic technologies into existing online learning environments.
- Development of new semantic technologies and software languages by using sound software engineering principles, and their testing and evaluation in the development of semanticallyenable online learning environments. |
