Marty Boogaart

The MSc IS program at Athabasca University helped Marty Boogaart maintain his flexibility in the workplace and increase both his skills and his salary.

An electrical engineer by training, Boogaart taught in the Electronics Engineering Technology program at Lethbridge College. When the program was cancelled, he was fortunate to be able to transfer to Computer Information Technology.

"I needed to upgrade my professional skills to match the new program in which I was now teaching. I wanted a Master`s degree since that meant an increase on the College pay grid."

"The MSc IS was an excellent experience that challenged me greatly. The course support was quick and thorough. In one class, the instructor went above and beyond the call of duty to help me. The degree entertained and challenged me. It also increased my salary and taught me the skills that I needed to do my job."

"I would absolutely recommend the MSc IS program to others. Anyone who has the discipline to learn on their own will benefit greatly from the experience."
